On the way back we stopped near Mordanga at Muiznieku
Kapi, Squire's Cemetery. My great-grandmother is buried here. I hadn't noticed
the inscription in back of the cemetery bell-tower before:
|
Manas ilgas kapa nogrima, Mani sapni tales izgaisa...
|
My yearnings sank into the grave, My dreams vanished into the
distance... |
My mother helped Gaida and Laura find the grave last
year. Since then, Gaida and Maris have cleaned it off and planted ground cover.
Next year I want to find out about erecting a monument. Gaida, Laura, Ruta and
my mom neaten things up, and Laura and my mom pose for a picture by their
grandmother's grave. Across the road, a view of another of Mordanga's lakes.
