so many relatives, so little time...

Our only other Riga "day trip" was pricing stoves and picking up a few souvenirs. All in all, far too little time spent wandering aroung this trip! Oh well!

Instead of going to London, Florence, Rome, or Barcelona for our official honeymoon, the only possibility we could or would consider was Latvia once again!

After all, home really is where the heart is, and both of us feel drawn to Latvia as if it's always been home.

We stumbled upon Silvija's namesake as we hunted for stoves and souvenirs our last day there.
Not quite seeing your name up in lights, but pretty close!

our stops along the way

June 1999, "Honeymoon in Latvia!"—devoted to friends and family.
Our home base was Zaubes iela, in an apartment Silvija's parents had rented on several occasions
Our day trip to Koknese, where Silvija's dad grew up and reclaimed land
Without a visit to Mordanga, Peters' visits to Latvia are never complete
We celebrated Kristine's birthday at Ruses iela, where there was fun for everyone!
Old family friends in Kandava and business in Kulidga, made for another pleasurable day trip
A visit to Vecaki, to drop in on Peters' side of our newly doubled extended family
Riga, no better place for good food and good friends!
We visit Peters' mom's cousin in Alsviki and sister in Bolderaja, there's no more pleasurable chore than getting to see all the relatives!
It's a wrap, all too soon we head for home
