Cakste's memorial has seen prouder days,
from Peters' trip in 2003
    

I made a point of visiting Janis Cakste's memorial in Meza Kapi (the Woods Cemetery) on my trip the summer following finding this album.

Cakste's memorial was neatly kept, though time had taken its toll. Loose blocks along the framng walkways, raised inscription letters pried loose from the stone (left), weeds growing out along the upper mortar joints in the gracefully curving memorial wall (right, and below), left me hoping Cakste's memorial would some day be fully restored. - Peters
