Preliminary steps were taken in 1946 leading to the implementation of the UNRRA eligibility program.
Welfare
1The welfare activities of the camp were well coordinated under the able and devoted direction of the Principl Welfare Officer Miss Ferreira, who had supervision of all religious, educational, recreational and cultural activitie, as well as personal counseling, tracing, repatriation, emigration, workers' PX, labor control, registration and eligibility and screening.
Her system for handling these functions is shown in the chart on the next page.
